Diablo 4 Fortify Stat Explained

1 year 1 month ago - 1 year 1 month ago #315 by videogame
Diablo 4 Fortify is an important mechanic to understand and take advantage of. Think of it as a passive effect in the game that will help when certain conditions are fulfilled. Coupling this sensibly with your build, especially if you are a Barbarian or a Druid, can do wonders in battle.

It can really help you in your battles. However, Fortify might be the most confusing for players to wrap their heads around. Not only does the in-game tutorial not explain Fortify too well, but there are also some added elements to the stat the game completely leaves out. So in this article, we will show you everything you need to know about Fortify.

Fortify is an effect that acts as an extra shield of HP over your natural HP. This means whatever your actual HP is, Fortify is a bonus HP on top of it. Think of it as another HP bar.

Like your health, Fortify is limited and will keep draining during battle after it is processed. Thus, if used correctly after pairing it with your build, you can have a really good time in Diablo 4 with extra HP and bonuses.

The mechanism of Fortify entirely depends on the skills and abilities you have in your build. As mentioned earlier, you must pair it with your build to execute the mechanism successfully. Only certain skills have a Fortify effect on them; thus, they will only work for this. Following are a few examples of Fortify usage in Diablo 4:

Druid: The Fortified life in the Druid will grant it a 10% damage reduction in battle whenever the HP goes below the Fortified life. This is the same for every class, but if you are going with the Werebear build, this is the best for you. It is also directly linked with the Overpower mechanic you will use in this build.
Barbarian: Using this with the Iron Skin ability and the Strategic perk will make a percentage of your current life as Fortify. This will create a strong defensive shield around you. When you are below 50% HP, the percentage doubles.
Necromancer: The Hemorrhage skill, when paired with the Initiate’s variant, grants a chance to turn a part of your current life into Fortify.

In addition, Fortify also works alongside the Overpower Damage stat in Diablo 4. Overpower damage is represented by the light blue and orange damage numbers you see when attacking an enemy. Overpower damage is essentially an extra damage stat that players have a 3% chance to inflict on an enemy. However, the higher your Life and Fortify stats are, the more powerful your Overpower Damage will be. You will always have a 3% chance to inflict Overpower Damage, but if you’re Fortified often, then the damage you deal with the stat will be increased.

And with that, we’ve explained the Fortify stat so that you can use it to its full potential. To survive even longer in Sanctuary, find more Diablo 4 guides, and browse U4gm.com. Also, you can get cheap Diablo 4 gold here, and 100% safe!
